This ergonomic feature was requested for our side-stance reach trucks to help alleviate operator fatigue while standing for long shifts. NASA used a specially engineered Hyster lift truck at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida to move space shuttle main engines from the main engine processing facility to the hangar in which space shuttles were prepared for missions. Each engine was 14 feet long and weighed approximately 7,000 lbs.
The feature was requested for our Tow Tractor model. The furniture-moving industry had seen a surge in flat-pack furniture and odd-shaped, single-pack items. Frequent injuries and employee shortages were growing. The specially engineered lifting attachment provided a load backrest to secure oblong loads during travel and helped cut unloading times up to 50% over manual lifting.
